Hurricane Nate Jesus Life Change New Orleans Prayer Salvation

Peace In A Hurricane

I got a comment on my other blog that touched my heart when I read it. Here’s what it said:

Here’s what it said:

“I’ve certainly enjoyed following along on the ups & downs of life, including the little things, it’s very relatable. Your posts and thoughts on fitness and weight have been interesting and encouraging to me, and I enjoy those as well. (100 lbs girl, wahoo!!)

But being a reader long enough to watch the story of finding true love unfold with Michael, and restoring your relationship with Jesus has been incredible! Both are the result of many prayers from many people who care about you, I know. I’m happy to be counted among the praying group, as I prayed for your future husband.

Thanks for keeping it real.”

The person who wrote this comment has been encouraging me through my blog for several years, and even though I’ve never met her in person, I am thankful for her encouragement. I’m also thankful for all of the prayers I’ve received from people who love me and even from strangers.

I have received a number of comments and emails from people who pray for me even though they don’t know me, and it’s such a high honor to know that someone took the time to ask God to move in my life even when I wasn’t asking him to.

It is incredible to know that God’s hand was on my all along, but living in a life-giving relationship with Jesus is so much greater than I ever could have imagined. I suppose that’s why I still get excited anytime I have a chance to tell someone about it.

As I write this post, I’m watching the rain move in, and as Hurricane Nate approaches, there is peace in our home. We know that God is in control, and I can lean on the fact that he has us in his hands and that he’s just as close as the mention of his name. I am so thankful for his grace and for every person who prayed that I’d come to know Jesus in a real and lasting way.

Knowing Jesus has changed everything.
