Michael and I both enjoy grocery shopping, and most of the time we do it together because it gives us an opportunity to be together since our work weeks are pretty busy. I enjoy meal prepping while he enjoys eating the meals we prepare. Ha! I mean, it’s true, but he’s great at making breakfast foods.
We both eat smaller portions than we used to, but I don’t usually make the recipes smaller. He’s willing to eat leftovers until they’re gone, so we cook meals that we can freeze and eat again later. We buy a lot of fresh produce, and we also spend money on protein shakes and meal replacement bars because I prefer those over actually eating meals when I’m on-the-go.
Our budget goal is $120 per week for the two of us, which sounds like a lot to me. We also include household products in that amount, and I have to make an effort to stick to that because it’s easy to overspend.
